My husband proclaimed this the best egg 'sammy' ever which is an exceptional compliment coming from him. I just made do with what I had in the house, but I think it was extra delic because of all the added flavor in the bread and the lettuce mix:
Artisanal bread (I used a rosemary olive oil bread)
Tomato (We have homegrown right now - makes all the difference!)
Lettuce (I used herb salad mix)
Salt and Pepper
Toast bread and slather with a bit of mayo. Add lettuce, sliced tomato, and bacon. Add some salt and pepper and layer eggs on top. Enjoy!
My favorite preparation for eggs is "basted" which is apparently common outside the US but less so here. I found a decent explanation/instruction here.
