Mundane. I mean, Monday.

Well, ok.  Not really mundane.  Had a lovely weekend thanks to some nice weather and a concerted effort to enjoy ourselves rather than fill the weekend with tasks.  Friday night, we headed up to Santa Barbara in a somewhat ridiculous attempt to get the new iPad.  We arrived one hour after they went on sale to find that the only option was ordering online with expected delivery in several weeks.  Funny though, they had plenty of the fancy new covers.  Kinda makes me think they should have had more inventory of the product it's meant to cover.  Met up with some dear friends for a good ol' SB evening out complete with "firetinis" and pizza at midnight.  Saturday morning, we made a delicious breakfast (see previous basted egg post) and then did some much needed yard work.  We then headed up to our favorite beach for some time with friends.  And in the evening, we made a great dinner spent the night by our fire pit.  Sunday was more beach ball chasing for Olive and a bath (hurray!), laundry, cleaning, and packing for Rush.

so cute, right?

Also, I completed a little project I meant to get to several weeks ago.  Was stymied by our silly printer and it's reliance on expensive (and apparently hard to find) ink.  Hmph.  Yet I prevailed.  A little t-shirt for my friend Michelle's daughter and a onsie for the one on the way.  Nothing fancy but personal just the same.

Made a couple really great send-off meals for my love.  Last night was Herbed Rack of Lamb, a basic risotto and sauteed greens.  We ate by the firepit outside again.  The table I built is really getting a workout already, and it's only March.  So thrilled.

Rush is off to Europe for ten days, so I fully expect to be crafty in his absence.  Hmmm.  What to do first?
